About a month or so ago James and I went on a quick reci mission from Cape Town along the West Coast to Upington. James went on to the Kalahari and I caught an overnight bus back down to Cape Town. Here’s what we saw.

We over-nighted at this awesome little town just before Springbok on the N7 called Kamieskroon. We arrived late at night and we knew that Springbok was fully booked with people like us who were there to see the flowers. It was cheeky but I was hoping for a homely little bed and breakfast with affordable cozy rooms, friendly people and home.cooked meals. That’s exactly what we found! Thee Afrikaans lady who ran the house with en-suite guesthouse was warm and welcoming and had one super frilly friendly room with a double bed. Magic.

This is the family livingroom (in the middle of the guesthouse). Grandparents and kids were all watching TV (and us) until 10pm.

Augrabies National Park 9
Augrabies Falls National Park. Were super spoiled to spend the night in the reserve. We awoke just before sunrise and watched the sun come up over the falls. Magic.

Before long the dassies and their little ones snuck out of their house-rocks and warmed up in the sun. It’s obvious that they associate us with food.
